Barbara Reiss has a successful track record of more than 30 years of experience as a consultant and coach to health care organizations, including health systems, community hospitals, FQHCs, and community clinics. In addition, Barbara has helped launch over 70 nonprofit startups as a co-founder of a national incubator. She is also a senior advisor to a SF-based accelerator providing capacity building resources to emerging advocacy groups. She introduces her clients to different approaches and tools of strategic thinking, strategic business planning, business model canvas, scenario planning, and innovation. Meeting clients’ where they are and collaborating with them to develop innovative approaches to their business problems are the cornerstones of Barbara’s consulting and coaching philosophy. She is committed to partnering with clients to help them focus on areas where change can be made to achieve success in their core and emerging businesses.
Barbara works closely with entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs as well as leadership teams and boards of directors of emerging and established organizations to accelerate the development and execution of their visions and missions, addressing management opportunities and challenges, and identifying innovative strategies resulting in achievable plans of action that are outcomes-based and measurable.
Ms. Reiss holds a BA and MPH, from UC Berkeley. She serves on the Board of the Northern California Association of Strategic Planning (ASP), Chair of the San Francisco ASP venue for sustainable business practice and strategy dialogue groups, and the San Francisco Bay Area Advisory Board of Facing History and Ourselves, an international educational and professional development organization.
